Ridgetop Ramble: Map and Snow Update

** THIS RIDE HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 4 **

Mother nature has spoken and she seems to like the idea of making our attempted winter gravel ride, a snow ride for the second year in a row! We aren't complaining, because last year was a blast!! What does this mean if you plan to come? Bring the fattest tire bike that you have, preferably a mountain bike or fatbike (a mountain bike joined us last year in similar conditions and faired just fine). If that's not possible, then bring your cross-country skies, and ski with us! If that's still not possible, then consider waiting a month and join us for our next ride, The Seven Caves Dirty Road Ride on March 22 (more details on this later!).

For those of you who plan to join us, you will find the details you will need for the day below. Assuming there will be snow on the ground we will likely opt for the alternative route on the map. Maps will be available during happy hour at the shop from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, the morning of the ride, and post ride in the shop.

Ride Start Time and Location: This Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Shawnee Lodge and Conference Center. For directions, click here.

Caravan/Carpool: A Caravan will depart from the shop on Saturday morning at 7:45 AM. If you are bringing a fat-bike, be sure to bring your own fork-ups and straps.

GPS Alternative Route (This will be the route we will follow if there is a lot of snow... do as much, or as little as you'd like)

And as a friendly reminder...

This ride is 100% free and self-supported which means we are not offering any form of ride services or sag. By voluntarily joining us on this ride you are acknowledging that you are fully responsible for yourself and your bike. If you cannot complete the ride, be prepared to self-rescue or to navigate your way back. We highly recommend bringing a friend to ride with.

Lastly, Shawnee State Forest is very remote with limited to no cell service, and no opportunities to refuel on water and food. Riders should come prepared with enough food and water for the entire ride.

We hope to see you on Saturday!
